Allow it to dry for at least 48 hours before laying the linoleum. It isnt advised to install linoleum on moist floor as this can lead to mold growth. To remove the linoleum and subfloor altogether drill a hole through the floor to figure out how thick the plywood is.

Set the saw blade to cut just 18 inch deeper and cut away a section of flooring on one corner of the room. You must remove the linoleum glue from any subfloor because some older adhesives had oils that chemically counter with new vinyl to cause yellow discoloration. Since its easier to work with smaller strips it helps if you score the linoleum or vinyl with a razor knife into 12 wide strips. Although it is not commonly used today to secure linoleum to sub-flooring it was sometimes used in years past.
